1. About these terms
These terms apply to use of the Wishes website and to event hire or services supplied by Wishes. Your quotation or booking confirmation may contain additional event-specific details. Nothing here limits a consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.
2. Business identity
Wishes is the public-facing identity shown on this website. The owner has intentionally chosen not to publish an individual legal/trader name or a residential, postal or geographic business/service address here. The legal/compliance publication exception remains unresolved and is not represented as satisfied.
3. Website use
Use the website lawfully and submit genuine enquiries. Do not interfere with security, impersonate another person, submit malicious content or use the forms for spam.
4. Enquiries
An enquiry asks Wishes to review availability and requirements. It does not reserve a date, guarantee stock or create a booking. An automated acknowledgement is an enquiry reference, not confirmation.
5. Quotations
A quotation will identify the agreed service, price, mandatory charges, deposit information, access requirements and any important conditions. Unless the quotation says otherwise, it remains open for 7 days. The date is not secured until Wishes confirms the booking and any required booking deposit is received.
6. Booking formation
A booking is confirmed only when Wishes expressly confirms it in writing and the stated booking conditions have been met. Website prices, availability views and estimates do not themselves form a contract.
7. Booking deposits
A booking deposit is an amount requested to secure the date and is separate from a security or damage deposit. For teepee hire, a booking deposit is required to secure the date. The quotation will state the amount and due date. A booking deposit is not automatically forfeited: any cancellation outcome is assessed under these terms, the booking document and applicable law.
8. Refundable security or damage deposits
A security deposit may apply to selected hired items and will normally be no more than £100. It is separate from the booking deposit and is returned or applied after reasonable inspection under the agreed booking terms. Wishes will consider actual loss or reasonable cleaning/repair costs caused by misuse, loss or damage. Normal wear and tear is excluded.
9. Prices and mandatory charges
The applicable total price and mandatory charges will be shown in the quotation before booking. The current minimum booking value is £100. Published “from” prices are estimates until the selected quantities, access and services are reviewed. A chair-cover collection fee of £25applies where that collection option is selected and will be shown before booking.
10. Payment
Accepted payment methods are BACS, PayPal, cash by prior arrangement. Your quotation or booking confirmation will state what is due and when. The final balance must be paid by the date shown on your quote or booking confirmation.Wishes will not apply an undisclosed payment charge.
11. Customer information and responsibilities
Provide accurate information about the event, venue, date, quantities, access, parking, permissions, hazards and requirements. Tell Wishes promptly if anything changes. A material change may require a revised quote or timing, which will be explained before agreement.
12. Service area and travel
Wishes serves Cornwall and nearby areas on request. Standard travel is included within 25 miles across the normal Cornwall service area. Travel outside that area is individually quoted before the booking is confirmed. The quotation controls the agreed travel charge.
13. Delivery, setup and collection
The quotation states what delivery, setup, dismantling and collection are included. You must provide safe, reasonable access and make hired items available at the agreed time. Exact timings may depend on the venue and other bookings.
14. Bell Tent requirements
Bell Tent weekend hire is currently £250. The tent needs approximately 8m x 8m of clear, level, peg-ready ground, nearby parking and suitable access. You must obtain venue permission and disclose underground services, hazards, overhead risks and access restrictions. Bell Tent bookings are normally available within 30 miles; the first 25 miles are within the standard included travel area, travel between 25 and 30 miles may attract a quoted charge, and areas beyond 30 miles can be considered on request.
15. Safety and unsafe sites
Wishes may refuse or pause work where setup, delivery or collection would be unsafe, for example because of dangerous access, unsuitable ground, extreme weather, unidentified utilities or insufficient space. Wishes will explain the issue and, where practical, offer a safer alternative. A reasonable additional charge will only be sought for avoidable waiting or extra work caused by unmet agreed site requirements and will be explained first.
16. Teepee hire
Teepees are for indoor use and must not be moved outdoors. A suitable clear floor area must be ready, and an adult remains responsible for supervision throughout the hire. Age guidance, capacity and supervision requirements will be confirmed for the selected package. Equipment must be used as instructed and returned ready for collection.
17. Care, loss and cleaning
Take reasonable care of hired items, use them for their intended purpose and keep them available for collection. Wishes may seek reasonable actual costs for loss, misuse, damage or unusual cleaning. Normal wear and tear, damage caused by Wishes and liability that the law places on Wishes are excluded from any customer charge.
18. Wedding crèche
Wedding crèche support is an agreed event service, not unrestricted childcare. Parents or guardians must remain at the venue or agreed immediate area, be contactable and be able to return promptly. Session duration, age range, staffing and capacity must be agreed before booking. The service is not described as Ofsted-registered on this website and no registration or exemption is claimed; the operating model must be reviewed before a booking is accepted.
19. Food and third-party suppliers
Wishes does not currently claim on this website to prepare or provide food through the teepee or MoonCakes pages. If a third-party supplier or food option is proposed, the supplier, scope, allergens and responsibility for preparation will be identified before booking. Do not rely on a general website description for allergy safety.
20. Customer images and photography
We will not use identifiable customer or guest photographs for marketing without a lawful basis and any permission needed. Do not submit another person's image or personal information unless you have authority to do so. Website images may be examples and available styling can vary slightly.
21. Customer cancellation
Request cancellation promptly through the Contact page. Wishes will assess the date, notice, work already completed, items reserved, reasonable direct loss and steps taken to reduce that loss. We will not apply a blanket rule that automatically keeps every upfront payment or an excessive cancellation charge. Any refund will be handled fairly under the booking document and applicable law.
22. Cancellation or change by Wishes
Wishes may need to cancel or change a booking where supply, staffing, safety, serious illness, venue access or another genuine operational issue makes performance impossible or unsafe. We will contact you promptly, explain the position, consider an alternative date or modified service where practical and make any refund or other remedy required by the booking and applicable law.
23. Weather
For weather-sensitive work, safety comes first. Wishes will consider an indoor arrangement where practical, then a modified service or alternative date. If none is reasonably possible, Wishes will explain the cancellation and refund position fairly, taking account of the booking terms, work already supplied and applicable law.
24. Complaints and disputes
Raise a concern through the Complaints page. The owner aims to reply within 24 hours and usually responds the same day. Wishes does not currently claim membership of or participation in a named ADR provider. This does not remove statutory rights or any legal route available to you.
25. Liability and statutory rights
Wishes remains responsible for obligations and liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer rights. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to those limits, you remain responsible for accurate information, venue permission, supervision and reasonable care of hired items.
26. Governing law and updates
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. We may update website terms when the service, technology or law changes; the updated date on this page identifies the current version. A confirmed booking is not changed retrospectively without agreement or a lawful basis.
